General Meeting Minutes

The President of Katy/West Houston Aggie Moms, Penny Nelson, called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.

Guest Speaker – Ginger Westbrook . There was no guest speaker, games were played.

Secretary, Kathleen Wilburn said the minutes were posted near the entrance. The minutes were approved as posted .

Treasures Report-Theresa Ashton reported as of 10/16/2007 that the checking account balance was $4,402.50. The monthly income was $1,418.42, the monthly expenses were $230.45, with a balance as of 11/19/07 of $5,590.47. The investment account balance as of 10/10/07 was $23,505.04. The Treasurer’s Report stands approved as read.

Officers and Committees

Vice President at Large/ Love Fund-Nancy Williford said the Love Fund has $212.24.

Vice President/Student drawings-Karen Kurt said there would be 2 student drawings.

Parliamentarian-Renee Anchors No report

Care Packages- Laurel Adami No report.

. Membership/Directory- Emma Lipperdt said we have 140 members. The new 2007-2008 Membership form is on the website. http://www.katywesthoustonaggiemoms.com/ The Directories are available.

Grocery Rebates- Renee Anchors –Some Aggie Moms brought phones and cartridges to recycle.

The 12 Days of Christmas skit about Aggies was performed.

Hospitality/Door prizes-Lori Etchison had another of her beautiful table settings to display all the goodies. Lori thanked everyone that brought food and drinks.

Programs- Ginger Westbrook February program will be Big Event.

Publications-Kay Pontious No Report.

Scholarship-Debbie Derong. Watch the website for the scholarship application and all information regarding applying for a scholarship.

Socials- Onaida Reichen. December 13, 2007 all are invited to LaPalapas at 6:30pm. Check the website for details. A bunco night is being planned for February.

Friday Movie- Cindy Long. August Rush December 7 @ Katy Mills Mall @ 11am.

Telephone-Marilyn Mokwa No Report.

Ways and Means-Christina McCaslin, Kathy Keene, and Margaret King Come see the cards and prints at the Ways and Means table.

Old Business

Aggie Mom’s Camp

Winter-in-Aggieland Nov. 29-30 Ways and Means made approximately $1500.00

Care packages have been delivered , Laurel thanked all that helped.

Big Event – March 2008. Make blankets for a child’s cancer unit.

New Business

Introduction of new members- First time moms told about themselves and their Aggie. Welcome to Aggie Moms and to the Katy/West Houston Aggie Moms Club.

Federation News – Nancy Williford told about the upcoming meeting for February, 2008.

Drawing for Door Prizes-Lori Etchison announced the winners: Karen Kurt, Sherri Kanpinga, and Jan Ilisevic. Congratulations to the lucky winners!

Student Drawings-Karen Kurt said there was enough for two student drawings. Congratulations to the lucky student winners!

Next General Meeting is Thursday, February 7,2008 @ 7:00pm.
